Country Sourdough
Crackly crust, open crumb and a gentle tang. Our everyday loaf.

Naturally leavened loaves, flaky pastry and good coffee, out of the oven before the sun is up.
Copperwren is a neighborhood bakehouse built around one simple idea: bake it today, enjoy it today. Our dough rests overnight, our butter is real, and the ovens fire up while the rest of the block is still asleep.
Pull up a stool, grab a coffee and stay a while. Or grab a warm loaf and go. Both are the right call.

The lineup shifts with the season and the baker's mood. Here is what you will usually find.

Laminated dough rolled with orange zest and cinnamon sugar.
Soft, buttery and twisted by hand with fragrant cardamom sugar.
Shatters on the outside, honeycomb on the inside.
Dark and hearty, packed with sunflower, flax and caraway.
Dimpled and golden, finished with flaky salt and rosemary.
Sold out? Come a little earlier tomorrow.
A short menu done well. Drip, espresso and a few seasonal lattes, all made to sit next to something warm and buttery.
The ovens heat up and the first loaves go in.
Doors open. The croissants are still warm.
Second bake. Focaccia and knots come out.
We bake to sell out, so nothing sits overnight.
Brunch, office mornings or a birthday that deserves better than grocery store cake. Call a couple of days ahead and we will put together a box.
